Dr. Boutros-Ghali was voted the secretary-general of the United Nations from 1992 to 1996, until someone ordered the departure of this "loathsome person", who belongs to the Egyptian-Arab Third World (as Dr. Ghali puts it).
In addition, the book contains serious announcements by Dr. Ghali, which reveal that he actually believed that the United Nations could have played an important role in the Cold War. But he discovered that the United Nations is controlled by only one power. Dr. Ghali is convinced that absolute power unwatched by the international community and other international players, is simply a corruptive power. Therefore, this authority is always seeking to appoint a secretary-general and not a "general" in the United Nations.
The book deservers to be read by those interested in international politics and human rights. It is a history of certain world events, which can only be known through reading such books. The future can only be seen through the eyes of the past.
